The membership and supporters of the Weequahic Park Association, (WPA), are enduring a cloud of immense grief over the passing of Feldman Middleton, affectionately known as “Mootzie.” Mootzie was a Founding Board Member of the WPA who put his heart and soul into the organization’s effort to restore Weequahic Park’s historic landscape, lake and facilities to their original beauty. His work in the community did not stop there; he generously offered his resources and support to any project whose goals were in the best interest of his beloved City of Newark.
We will always remember his high-spirited discourse on the things he felt most passionate about. Mootzie, had a reputation for helping those in need, providing immediate essentials or lengthy assistance. His heart was always in the right place. A true patron of the people has left us, but if it is true that the deeds men do live after them, Mootzie epitomized that axiom because we will not forget the goodness within him.
